We believe that when students' hauora is strong, their academic success will improve. We know “a student’s level of wellbeing at school is indicated by their satisfaction with life at school, their engagement with learning and their social emotional behaviour.” (ERO, 2016, Well-being for Success).
We have used the emerging themes from our Wellbeing@School cluster data to inquire deeper into those factors that affect our students' well-being and the climates of our schools. Our three key inquiry questions are:
Alongside this work we have established a Learning Services and Supports Group consisting of teachers, leaders and other professionals to address the learning support needs of ākonga in our Kāhui Ako in flexible, responsive and collaborative ways. |
