There is strength to be had in working collaboratively across networks. Kāhui Ako work as networks and are aligned around the learning pathway of young people in geographical area. In Wellington, students access a wide range of schools across the area, and the pathways are less clear than in other areas of Aotearoa. So, it makes sense for the Kāhui Ako teams across Wellington to be connected for support and sharing.
In September, with the support of the Ministry of Education, the following Kāhui Ako lead teams met for an afternoon: Capital City Kāhui Ako (South),Te Kāhui Ako o te Whanganui-a-Tara (West), Motu Kairanga Kāhui Ako (in the East), Tawa Kāhui Ako, and the Wellington Catholic Schools Kāhui Ako. We shared experiences, advice for working across schools and early thoughts on how we might move forward together into 2020.
